TODP Pro-Modular in standard “Toxic” print

Note: This is the NON-BUFFERED version

The Pro-Modular TODP is an updated version of the “veritable toolkit of overdrive and distortion” from Brelliott Amps. It can give you a huge range of breakup from hardly noticeable, at the edge of break-up (transparent) to full-on metal or punk distortion, with all kinds or blues and rock options in the middle. You can now also swap the distortion and overdrive boards!

The Tube Overdrive Distortion Plus drive circuit owes a lot to the superbly simple and robust “Distortion +”. Though the artwork and layout has remained the same, you can now change the characteristics of the overdrive or distortion by swapping the boards for one of our own, or even a 3rd party board (when available).

As before, there are pre-cut and post-boost options for the low end, which can be used together to give a more mid oriented break up in the tube. The high end can be tamed with passive Filter control pot.

All 6 settings utilise the overdrive device, with increasingly more noticeable tube effect, as you go from Ge to ABN:

  • 3x “hard clipping” diode distortion settings: 80s / Schottky (labelled Ge), 80s / silicon and 90s / LED
  • 3x tube (valve) overdrive settings: AB2 – where you can hear the 2x silicon diodes affect the break up, AB4 – where the 4x silicon diodes are largely inaudible, or ABN – where the compression is controlled in a classic 50s / 60s way

The new standard J201 Fetzer overdrive device is mounted on a daughter board, and has been carefully crafted to give a rich and distinctly tube-like sound.

This is the non-Buffered version, with a 250K output pot.

If  only a “real tube” will do, you can also purchase a Real Tube Experiment Board, which are for the Real Tube Experiment Kit, and share the same pin configuration. We currently have two (2x) different versions of these available, both loaded with Soviet era sub-miniature “pencil” Rod Pentode tubes (valves) :

  • The “tube” board, loaded with a 1J37B
  • The  “TUBE-V board”, loaded with a military spec 1J29B-V

There are also various Experiments in Distortion boards, including some which are populated with germanium diodes.

These daughter boards are available to buy in our web shop. We will not fit the boards to the TODP, and it is a simple process to replace the stock boards, should you be so inclined.

Note: This pedal must not be sold with anything other than dedicated TODP boards fitted. If you sell the pedal on, all Real Tube Experiment Boards and Experiments in Distortion boards must be removed before sale, and the standard boards re-fitted.

This particular pedal features the standard “Toxic” graphic, co-designed, painted, and printed by the Somerset based artist Mutartis.

We are now able to offer postage to UK, EU & EEA countries, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, and other East Asian countries. If your country is not shown on the list at check-out, please contact us.

ALL PEDALS WILL BE SHIPPED BY COURIER FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES AND ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR FREE SHIPPING.

* amount of distortion and overdrive will depend on many factors, including gain range of pedal, guitar setup, and pick-up types. The gain assignment for this release is Wide-Range (1M). The range of these offers a more “transparent” overdrive at lower gains, while still giving good control of the gain at higher gains. Four of the modes create distortion mainly by overdriving a thermionic rod type valve (or tube). The filter range will be set to Wide, and the input cap to Mid.

** colours and print quality will vary; the theme is painted and printed to give this variation.

Safety Information

When using the Brelliott TODP follow these safety guidelines to prevent electric shock, fire hazards, and damage:

  • Power Supply – only use the manufacturer-recommended power adapter with the correct voltage and polarity.
  • Avoid Water & Moisture – keep the pedal dry and away from liquids to prevent electrical hazards.
  • Proper Ventilation – ensure adequate airflow to prevent overheating. Avoid covering the pedal while in use.
  • Check Cables & Plugs – regularly inspect power cables for damage. Do not use frayed or exposed wires.
  • Safe Plugging & Unplugging – always switch off mains power before unplugging the power supply to the pedal.
  • Earthing & Shock Prevention – use a properly Earthed power outlet to avoid electrical shocks.
  • Do not modify plugs or remove Earth connection – even though most power supplies are double insulated, and do not require an Earth, some do.
  • Indoor Use Only – externally-powered pedals should only be used in dry, indoor environments.
  • Keep Away from Children – prevent accidental operation or damage by keeping pedals out of reach of children.
